This is a very basic white sauce recipe. You can add additional seasonings to it as you like and as would be suitable with the recipe. I enjoy it just like this for many things.
2 Tablespoons Olive Oil or Butter (one of the very few recipes I use oil in)
2 Tablespoons +- Flour
2 cups Milk (I use Cashew Milk, Unsweetened and Unflavored)
Salt and Pepper to taste
In a saucepan, heat up your oil or butter. Add the flour and stir for a few minutes, it will get very clumpy but it is an important step. Then slowly add your milk, and whisk over high heat until thickened. Salt and Pepper to taste.
I enjoy this in vegetable casseroles as shown but there are many uses for it. Enjoy!
